We are recruiting for an indoor Pig Stockperson for a farm in County Tyrone, BT82.
Our client is a family-owned pig farming business in Co.
Tyrone.
They are investing in their facilities and looking for someone who wants to develop with the business, as there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibility and progress as the business continues to grow - in short, someone wanting a long-term career.
The site is a sow breeding unit currently with around 740 sows, keeping the pigs to around 8 weeks of age before they are moved to the home unit.
It is an indoor sow unit currently with around a 50/50 split between conventional farrowing housing and flexible farrowing housing in a weekly batch system.
The pig unit is mostly modern slatted housing with fan ventilation and WEDA wet-fed feeding.
Person specifications: Machinery and forklift experience would be beneficial, but training can be provided This position would suit someone with some commercial pig farming experience, particularly on breeding units, although a motivated person with the right attitude and willingness to learn could also be considered.
