We are recruiting for a Finishing Pig Farm Manager in Hampshire, SP6. This unit was recently acquired and is now part of a family-run business with the vision and resources to invest significantly in its facilities and employees. They offer a comprehensive career development pathway for applicants seeking growth and advancement opportunities. The pig unit is a 6500-place finishing site, from 18 kilos to finishing weight. They are specifically looking for someone who can run the day-to-day management of the unit.

Main duties:

  • Manage all full-time staff on the unit
  • Responsible for the condition of livestock on the unit - feeding, moving, serving, treating, vaccinating and handling the pigs
  • Ensure that animal welfare is in accordance with company standards
  • Ensure that all equipment/farm machinery is used safely and remains in good condition at all times
  • Have overall site responsibility
  • Manage and complete weekly paperwork and keep records up to date at all times
  • Work with your team to meet designated performance targets, managing the performance of staff and pig production to bring about the best results

Candidate specifications:

  • Experience with finishing and pig unit management
  • The ability to prioritise and complete tasks fully with strong attention to detail is a must
  • You must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a desire to exceed expectations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Driving license

Salary: £40,000+ DOE
