Our client is looking to employ a Pig Stockperson for their indoor pig unit in Lincolnshire (DN18). The indoor unit has approximately 1,000 sows, operating from breeding to weaning, with weekly weaning of around 750-800 piglets. The producer is looking for an experienced pig stockperson with strong breeding knowledge who shows enthusiasm and a passion for working in the pig industry.
Duties include:
- Working as part of a dedicated team across different departments of this breeding-to-weaning unit
- Farrowing
- Serving
- Piglet care
- Weaning
- Loading
- Mucking out
- Power washing
- Assisting with the general responsibilities of the unit
About You:
- Experience working with pigs - particularly breeding
- Good physical fitness - the role involves strenuous manual tasks
- Ability to follow procedures with attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
