We are recruiting for either an experienced Pig Farm Manager or a skilled Pig Stockperson looking to progress into a management role. Our client, a family-run farming business based in Somerset, is looking for a Pig Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of a 400-sow farrow-to-finish unit.
The unit runs on a 3-week batch system and integrates both outdoor-reared and free-range production. Dry sows are kept indoors in a modern scrape-through facility built three years ago. Farrowing is conducted outdoors on concrete railway sleepers, while growers are housed outside in Hudson barns. Outdoor-reared pigs are finished indoors in deep-straw, scrape-through accommodation, whereas free-range pigs remain outside throughout the production cycle.
The farm prides itself on maintaining a close connection with the end consumer and has a commitment to high animal welfare standards.
