We are recruiting for a Pig Stockperson for a farm in Dumfriesshire (DG11). This is a mixed farm with arable and livestock. The pig unit is a breeding-to-finishing 500-sow indoor business, and the role will focus on growers/finishers. Investment over the years has ensured modern/up-to-date technology and equipment, and they are currently building new sheds.
Person specification:
- Good knowledge and history of working with pigs
- Ability to work to high welfare and production standards
- Good eye for detail
- Team player
- Must help across the unit, moving and loading pigs
- Previous experience with a mill and mix plant would be useful
Training can be provided for forklifts and various pig procedures.
Salary: From £28,000 to £35,000 DOE
Plus:

Hours: The average working week is 42/45 hours, but not limited to, plus working one in three weekends.
