We're recruiting for a Boar Technician to join a unit in Lincolnshire, LN7. Our client is a leading player in the UK's agricultural sector, dedicated to integrating traditional farming practices with modern, sustainable methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect semen from boars in accordance with set protocols.
- Assist with preparing and maintaining the collection area.
- Move pigs between housing units and the collection yard (requires physical stamina).
- Monitor animal behaviour and welfare throughout the process.
- Maintain accurate records of collections and observations.
- Clean and disinfect equipment and work areas to ensure high biosecurity standards.
About You
- Experience working with livestock (pigs preferred but not essential).
- Confidence working around large animals.
- Good physical fitness – the role involves strenuous manual tasks.
- Ability to follow procedures with attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
