We are a recognised motorsport organisation with deep connections across multiple categories worldwide and a long-standing commitment to junior driver development. The development of junior talent is central to what we do. For the 2027 season we are establishing a dedicated, high-performance engine program for competitive OK-N Junior drivers with clear ambitions in the Italian Championship, WSK and FIA events. This opportunity continues through 2028, 2029 and beyond. This is a pure performance role focused exclusively on engine development and tuning. We are seeking a world-class Engine Master with a proven track record in OK, OK-N and OK-N Junior, particularly in Italian-based championships. The successful candidate will have intimate knowledge of IAME, Modena Engines and TM Kart power units and the ability to extract maximum legal performance from them under all conditions. The role is deliberately limited to a maximum of four drivers within one team. This ensures focused preparation, consistent standards and the ability to deliver maximum performance across the program. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of an exclusive engine program, supported by significant investment and clear championship objectives. This is an opportunity for a talented mechanic and technician to build and shape an engine program and team focused on a small number of drivers for a recognised team with endless possibilities. This isn’t a career move; this is the opportunity to showcase your skills and build a dynasty.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven results and deep technical experience with IAME Reedster V, Modena Engines ME-KN/ME-K and TM Kart 53-OKN.
  • Strong technical, mechanical and metrological knowledge, including precision measurement and tolerance control.
  • Expert understanding of engine characteristics across the full rev range.
  • High-level dyno operation, data analysis and engine mapping capability.
  • Clear understanding of the effects of weather, altitude and air pressure on performance, with the ability to calculate differentials and implement precise on-the-spot adjustments.
  • Full mechanical capability to implement development plans, including building, assembling, modifying and preparing engines to the required standard.
  • Intimate knowledge of current FIA, WSK and ACI/Italian Championship regulations for OK / OK-N / OK-N Junior.
  • Significant on-the-job experience, with a clear previous employment record and current employer details.
  • Strong industry contacts and a respected standing within the karting paddock.
  • Self-motivated, able to work effectively in a team environment, follow clear instructions and deliver under pressure.

  • Valid Class C competition licence (or equivalent).
  • Ability to travel and commit to a minimum of 22 race weeks for the 2027 season and beyond.

KEY TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS

A successful candidate must demonstrate advanced capability in the following five areas:

  • Exhaust System Optimisation & Power Delivery: Precise control of exhaust phase, pipe length, cone angles and header geometry to optimise the exhaust pulse and scavenging effect. Ability to balance bottom-end response, mid-range torque and top-end power while remaining fully compliant with homologation and restrictor requirements.
  • Combustion Chamber Volume, Squish & Compression: Accurate measurement and control of combustion chamber volume, squish clearance and compression ratio within strict regulatory limits. Understanding of how these parameters affect flame propagation, thermal efficiency and power output across the rev range.
  • Carburettor & Fuel Delivery: Expert selection and real-time adjustment of jets, needles, slides and emulsion tubes to maintain optimal air-fuel ratio under changing air pressure, ambient temperature, humidity and altitude. Ability to calculate density altitude effects and implement immediate corrections.
  • Ignition Timing & Mapping: Fine control of ignition advance curves and mapping to match exhaust characteristics, combustion chamber design and ambient conditions. Ability to optimise timing for maximum usable power while avoiding detonation or excessive thermal load.
  • Internal Friction, Sealing & Thermal Management: Minimisation of mechanical losses through precise crankcase sealing, piston-to-cylinder clearances, ring end-gap control and bearing selection. Effective management of cylinder and crankcase temperatures to maintain consistent power delivery and reliability under race conditions.
