Road to Logistics is recruiting people across Leicester and Leicestershire who want to train and progress into employment within the warehousing and logistics industry. Through our fully funded Warehouse Operative Skills Bootcamp, you'll develop the skills, knowledge and confidence employers are looking for, while receiving dedicated support to help you move into work. No previous warehouse or logistics experience is required. We're looking for people who are reliable, motivated and ready to take the next step towards employment.

What Does a Warehouse Operative Do?

Warehouse Operatives play an important role in keeping goods moving through warehouses, distribution centres and supply chains. Depending on the employer and role, your work could include:

  • Receiving and checking deliveries
  • Picking and packing customer orders
  • Preparing goods for despatch
  • Moving and storing stock safely
  • Carrying out stock checks
  • Using warehouse equipment
  • Loading and unloading goods

This programme is funded through Skills Bootcamps, so eligibility criteria apply. You must:

  • Be aged 19 or over
  • Live in an eligible Leicester or Leicestershire area
  • Have the legal right to live and work in the UK
  • Meet the relevant Skills Bootcamp funding requirements
  • Be able to attend and participate in the required training
  • Be genuinely interested in progressing into warehousing or logistics employment
  • Be willing to engage with employment support
  • Be prepared to attend an interview for a suitable live vacancy following the programme

You may be unemployed, employed or self-employed, although different funding requirements may apply depending on your circumstances. Road to Logistics will confirm your full eligibility before your place on the programme is confirmed.

You don't need previous warehouse experience or logistics qualifications to apply. We're more interested in your attitude, reliability and willingness to learn. Warehouse roles can involve being on your feet for periods of time, carrying out practical tasks and working as part of a team. Depending on the employer, opportunities may also involve different shift patterns. We'll help you understand what employers are looking for and prepare you for the workplace.
