Build Employer Partnerships. Create Opportunities. Change Careers. At Road to Logistics, we believe training should lead somewhere. We are a not-for-profit organisation creating accessible routes into sustainable careers across the logistics, transport, warehousing, construction and infrastructure sectors. We work with people from a wide range of backgrounds, including individuals who may face barriers to employment, providing industry-led training, employability support and progression into work. Our support does not stop when training finishes. Our ultimate measure of success is helping people turn their training into sustainable employment and long-term careers.

The Role

This is a proactive, outcomes-focused role responsible for connecting our learners with employers and employment opportunities. You will build and maintain strong relationships with employers, understand their current and future workforce requirements and create genuine recruitment opportunities for Road to Logistics learners. At the same time, you will get to know our learner talent pool – understanding each individual's skills, qualifications, experience, aspirations, employment readiness and circumstances – so that you can make effective matches between people and opportunities. You will take ownership of the progression journey from learner readiness through to employer introduction, application, interview, job offer and employment start. This isn’t simply about finding vacancies. We want someone who can open doors, develop trusted employer relationships and create opportunities that might not otherwise exist.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build and maintain relationships with employers across logistics, transport, warehousing, construction and infrastructure.
  • Proactively engage new employers through telephone contact, email, LinkedIn, employer visits, networking and recruitment events.
  • Understand employer workforce needs and identify current and future recruitment requirements.
  • Generate suitable vacancies, interviews and assessment opportunities for our learners.
  • Promote the Road to Logistics learner talent pool directly to employers.
  • Match learners to opportunities based on their skills, qualifications, experience, aspirations, location and employment readiness.
  • Support learners with CVs, applications, interview preparation and employer assessments.
  • Coordinate candidate introductions, interviews, assessments, employer visits, job offers and employment starts.
  • Obtain employer feedback following applications and interviews and use this to support learner development.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of employers, vacancies and recruitment opportunities.
  • Track learner progression and identify where additional intervention or support may be required.
  • Maintain contact with employers following employment starts to support successful onboarding, retention and repeat recruitment.
  • Keep accurate and auditable records of employer engagement and employment outcomes.
  • Share employer feedback and labour market intelligence with our Operations and Delivery Teams.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, starting conversations, building relationships and turning those relationships into opportunities. You will need to be organised and resilient, able to manage multiple employers and learners at different stages of the recruitment journey, and motivated by achieving positive outcomes for people. You will ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Employer engagement
  • Recruitment or talent acquisition
  • Job brokerage
  • Employability or welfare-to-work
  • Business development
  • Candidate or vacancy matching
  • Supporting individuals through recruitment processes
  • Working towards performance or employment outcome targets

Experience within logistics, transport, warehousing, construction or infrastructure would be advantageous, but it is not essential. Knowledge of funded skills and employment programmes, including Skills Bootcamps, Adult Skills Fund or DWP provision, would also be beneficial.

The Person

The right person for this role will be:

  • Confident and professional
  • Proactive and willing to create opportunities
  • Tenacious and resilient
  • An excellent relationship builder
  • A strong communicator and influencer
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise
  • Commercially aware
  • Results-focused
  • Collaborative
  • Empathetic and learner-focused
  • Comfortable taking ownership and being accountable for outcomes

Most importantly, you will understand that behind every employment target is a person trying to build a career.

How We Measure Success

Success in this role isn’t about activity for activity’s sake. You will be measured on the quality and impact of your employer engagement, including employer relationships developed, suitable vacancies generated, candidate introductions, interviews secured, job offers, employment starts, employment retention and repeat recruitment. Our focus is on successful and sustainable employment outcomes, not simply placement volume.

Why Join Road to Logistics?

This is an opportunity to join an organisation where employer engagement has a direct and visible impact. You will have the opportunity to develop relationships with employers, influence recruitment opportunities and help people translate training and qualifications into meaningful careers. Our values are central to how we work: putting learners first, building trusted partnerships, acting with integrity, working collaboratively, delivering excellence, promoting equality and inclusion, taking ownership and creating sustainable employment opportunities. If you are a natural relationship builder who enjoys opening doors, connecting people with opportunities and delivering measurable results, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and help us turn training into sustainable careers.
