About the Role

As a Public Affairs Executive, you\’ll play a key role in delivering impactful political engagement strategies and helping RHA remain a leading voice in transport and logistics. Working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll gain hands-on experience in supporting campaigns, monitoring political developments, and engaging with influential stakeholders across government and industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the delivery of RHA’s public affairs strategy across multiple policy areas.
  • Monitoring Parliament and identifying opportunities for engagement (e.g., Select Committees, APPGs, Departmental Questions).
  • Assisting with the planning, research, and delivery of high-impact campaigns.
  • Preparing political briefings, internal updates, and insightful horizon-scanning reports.
  • Helping to coordinate stakeholder events and MP visits to RHA members.
  • Maintaining stakeholder databases and helping shape strategic messaging.
  • Contributing to consultation responses, position papers, and advocacy reports.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong understanding of UK politics, Parliamentary procedure, and current affairs.
  • Demonstrable interest or experience in public affairs, campaigns, or policy research.
  • Excellent communication skills—confident in writing, presenting, and engaging with stakeholders.
  • A proactive team player, eager to learn, contribute ideas, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with a keen eye for political and sector trends.
