We are currently looking for a part-time Legacy Fundraiser to join our Fundraising team, reporting to the Director of Fundraising. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in developing and growing our legacy and in memory fundraising programme.
Role Responsibilities
As our Legacy Fundraiser, you will lead the development and delivery of activities that raise awareness of legacy and in memory giving, engage supporters and strengthen long-term relationships. Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, you will use campaigns, stewardship, insight and engagement opportunities to build a sustainable pipeline of future income for the charity.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing and delivering an annual legacy fundraising plan to increase awareness, enquiries, pledges and future income.
- Creating and delivering engaging legacy and in memory fundraising campaigns across digital, print, email and supporter communications.
- Providing exceptional supporter stewardship, guiding individuals considering or making a Gift in Will and building lasting relationships with legacy pledgers.
- Maximising opportunities through national campaigns such as Remember A Charity Week and developing events and engagement activities that raise awareness of legacy giving.
- Building and maintaining relationships with solicitors, will writers and other professional partners to support legacy fundraising activity.
- Monitoring campaign performance, supporter engagement, income forecasts and key performance indicators, using data and insight to drive continuous improvement.
- Working with colleagues and external partners to ensure effective management, reporting and forecasting of legacy income and estate administration.
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting the effective use of CRM systems to manage legacy and in memory fundraising activity.
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in fundraising, marketing, supporter engagement or relationship management, with a track record of delivering successful campaigns, projects or supporter-focused initiatives.. They will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to communicate in a friendly, professional, and confidential manner. The role will suit those with a positive and flexible approach and an ability to remain calm under pressure..
Whilst character is important to us, we do require a certain level of experience to succeed in this role. This is:
- Experience in fundraising, marketing, supporter engagement or a similar role.
- Experience of delivering campaigns, projects or engagement activities.
- Experience of using CRM systems.
- Experience of supporter stewardship, legacy, in memory or individual giving fundraising would be advantageous.
