About the Role

Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of creatives? We are looking for an inspiring Lecturer in Art & Design to join our vibrant department. Whether you are an experienced educator or a practicing artist looking to transition into Further Education, this is your chance to bring your industry expertise into the studio and help our students turn their talent into careers.

Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding teaching and assessment in Levels 1-3 and elements of HE Art & Design. With an enthusiastic and engaging approach, you will have the ability to motivate students and support them to achieve their potential. You will be responsible for the success of students and providing an enriched curriculum, monitoring student progress and ensuring timely completion and achievement. This will include recruitment, providing advice and guidance to students on their progression routes, and developing industry links that provide them with enrichment and work experience.

You will…

  • Hold a degree in Art & Design (or a related discipline).
  • Hold a teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed) or a willingness to work towards one.
  • Have professional industry experience and a strong portfolio of work.
  • Have the ability to engage diverse learners and foster an inclusive studio environment.
  • Hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake).

Department Info

You will work as part of the curriculum team at the Rotherham campus and you will also closely work with and take direction from our Curriculum Team Leaders. You will be line managed by the Curriculum Manager.
