What You Will Do

  • Deliver Excellence: Teach diverse, high-quality lessons across Levels 1 to 5.
  • Shape Futures: Drive student success up to and including Higher Education.
  • Master the Curriculum: Work across prestigious awarding bodies like NCFE and the Skills Education Group (Access) and Universities for HE provision.
  • Lead and Moderate: Take ownership of course modules and high-quality internal moderation.
  • Engage the Community: Champion student recruitment, track progress, and connect with parents and stakeholders.
  • Set SMART targets: Manage student progress, and bring real-world criminology and public service concepts to life.

You will…

  • Play a vital role in designing vibrant, creative resources that captivate and inspire future criminologists and youth justice practitioners. By seamlessly blending real-world case studies, theoretical frameworks, and digital teaching methods, you will equip learners with the critical analytical skills, psychological insights, and ethical behaviours needed to thrive in the justice sector and beyond. You will also champion student success by actively tracking data and guiding their progress toward outstanding personal achievements.
  • As a highly motivated and supportive team player, your exceptional interpersonal skills will shine. You will collaborate seamlessly with colleagues and leadership to turn strategic academic visions into impactful, engaging classroom realities.
  • You will hold a vocational qualification at Level 5 or above, as well as a relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or be willing to work towards. You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards. We understand that no candidate will perfectly match every qualification or criterion listed. Department Info

You will work as part of the curriculum team of Sport & Public Services at Dearne Valley College, and take direction from the Curriculum Team Leader. You will be line managed by the Curriculum Manager.
