Our vision is to save Every One. RNLI is a lifelong public service that is driven by volunteer life‑saving work, fundraising and retail. We are looking for a Manager who will grow and support the RNLI community across South Wales and the Three English Counties.

Base pay range
Salary range: £34,893 – £41,050 (dependent on experience)

Your role
As a Community Manager you will be the main point of contact for all engagement activities, including fundraising, retail and visitor experience within your region. You will empower volunteers, grow support for the RNLI’s lifeboat service and explore new opportunities to raise income and awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Empower and support volunteer engagement crews to grow public support and communicate the RNLI vision
  • Assist crews to achieve key income, footfall and contact goals and identify new audiences
  • Collaborate with the regional team to shape RNLI engagement strategy and deliver outstanding support to staff, volunteers and supporters
  • Develop and implement new income streams and partnership opportunities within the community

About you
You will be a natural communicator, a people person who energises teams and gets results. You are strategic, adaptable and confident working independently or as part of a high‑performing team.

Qualifications

  • Proven significant experience engaging supporters, volunteers and the public
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • People leadership experience, ideally leading volunteers in a collaborative environment
  • Experience seeking and implementing new opportunities for improved performance
  • Experience supporting and nurturing corporate or community partnerships
  • Understanding of the importance of Welsh language and culture (essential)

Additional information

  • Travel: Significant travel within South Wales, North West England, West Midlands, Isle of Man and occasional overnight stays at RNLI assets.
  • Driving licence: This post requires a valid driving licence.
  • Safeguarding: RNLI requires all employees and volunteers to meet safeguarding, and all candidates will undergo relevant criminal record checks depending on role eligibility.
