Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. 24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Volunteer Experience Team. We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills to ensure that our volunteers, supporters, and enquirers feel valued and supported, helping RNLI remain the most loved and supported charity.
Your Role
As a Volunteer Experience Officer, you will work in a fast-paced environment, focusing on:
- Receiving and making telephone calls with our volunteers across Retail Shops, Fundraising, and Engagement teams.
- Supporting volunteers by creating support materials on RNLI systems, including marketing posters, invitations, and tickets.
- Providing resources for volunteers, such as sourcing RNLI mascots, marquees, collection equipment, and shop merchandise.
- Processing telephone payments, managing memberships, and handling online shop orders to support Supporter Experience and Retail operations during peak times.
- Efficiently using various systems.
- Meeting deadlines and performance indicators to ensure service levels are maintained.
About You
You will provide first-class service to retail and engagement volunteers, key individuals, and volunteer groups to secure support, nurture relationships, and increase engagement. A proactive team player who can juggle priorities is essential.
To be considered, you should have:
- Proven customer service skills.
- Experience in making and receiving telephone calls regularly.
- Experience with various database and systems.
- Experience working in an office-based environment.
