The RNLI is recruiting for a full-time Sea Survival Centre Trainer in Poole.\n \nThere aren't many jobs that combine the excitement and the thrill of training volunteer lifeboat crews in personal sea survival techniques, capsize training on the Atlantic and D class lifeboats, basic fire safety awareness, and ultimately providing crew with the skills and knowledge to save lives at sea.\n \nAs a Sea Survival Centre Trainer, you can expect:\n \n- This role will involve spending prolonged periods in the sea survival pool, whilst confidently teaching and ensuring student safety\n \n- Deliver practical sea survival training and classroom-based theory sessions at the dedicated Sea Survival Centre in Poole\n \n- Conduct assessments and deliver feedback\n \n- Ensure lifesaving training equipment is kept in good working order\n \nTo succeed in this role, you must have:\n \n- Minimum of 6 months' commercial maritime experience\n \n- High level of water confidence\n \n- Knowledge of the RNLI and its operations\n \n- An interactive and inclusive training style\n \n- The ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and staff, course participants, and the existing training team\n \nDesirable qualifications and experience for this role:\n \n- IMO Train the Trainer (6.01) or equivalent teacher training qualifications\n \n- Background in firefighting, sea survival or first aid\n \nFor full details of the Sea Survival Centre Trainer role in Poole, please see the attached job profile and summary of our benefits. n \nAs this is a sea-going appointment, you will need to satisfy the Institution's medical and eyesight standards.\This will include relevant criminal record checks being carried out dependent on the eligibility of the role.
