We are looking for a Senior Employment Counsel to join our innovative in-house Legal team. Whether we are talking innovative fundraising ideas, the building of a lifeboat, protecting our intellectual property or corporate partnerships, the support of our staff and volunteers comes first and that’s where you come in.

Your Role

As Senior Employment Counsel, your role will be to provide expert legal guidance and provide the strategic vision and direction and management of employment legal issues throughout the RNLI. You will carry out a wide range of legal work and provide advice and guidance, as well as negotiate and resolve disputes. You may have responsibility for line management of a junior solicitor or apprentice solicitor within the legal team.

About You

You will carry out a wide and diverse range of legal work including:

  • Employment Contracts
  • Pay Disputes
  • Termination and cessation of employment
  • TUPE issues
  • Oversight of Employment Tribunals
  • All other employment related contractual issues

More specifically, you’ll be:

  • A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive
  • Have proven experience of dealing with varied caseloads with the minimum of supervision
