Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our Financial Team. The Finance Team supports the RNLI by providing tax support and expertise to help the RNLI maximise its income, minimise its expenditure, and ensure it is legally compliant.

Your Role
As a Tax Manager, you will be tasked with focusing on the following areas:
- Completion, review and submission of all tax and duty returns on a monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual basis for the RNLI and its subsidiary companies
- Completion, review and submission of the Corporation Tax returns for the RNLI and its subsidiary companies, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Managing queries relating to Customs and Excise and providing support to colleagues on cross-border transactions
- Liaison with external professional advisers and tax authorities, including HMRC, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and guidance
- Supporting the Senior Tax Manager with tax advice and guidance for new projects as required both within Finance and across the RNLI
About You
You’ll be meticulous and diligent, deadline-driven, and someone who likes to consistently provide a high standard of work. To be considered as the Tax Manager, you will need:
- To have completed or be working towards a recognised accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or be qualified through significant experience (Essential)
- Experience of tax legislation and returns
- Demonstrable strong IT and data analysis skills and experience
- Good understanding of financial processes and controls, and process improvements
- Experience of educating both financial and non-financial staff on tax issues
- A relevant tax qualification
This will include relevant criminal record checks being carried out, dependent on the eligibility of the role (DBS check, Scotland; International, International Child Protection Certificate process).
