Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. 24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue.We’re looking for an Occupational Health Advisor to join our Occupational Health Team. The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Department supports the RNLI by ensuring our volunteers and staff are at the centre of the services we provide.

We are fortunate to work alongside our Mental Health and Wellbeing lead and volunteer TRiM team to provide a joined up, proactive service where our people have the greatest need.

Your role

As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will be integral to the team by:

  • Providing clear and evidence-based professional advice, support and guidance
  • Maintaining confidentiality and appropriate record keeping in line with ethical, legal, professional and RNLI guidelines
  • Deliver the full remit of Occupational Health and Wellbeing services, including health assessments, management referrals and health surveillance as well as advice and guidance for our line managers
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with individuals, managers and functions across the organisation
  • Contribute to the development and provision of high-quality and pro‑active occupational health services and wellbeing initiatives that meet the current and emerging needs of the RNLI

About you

You’ll be someone who displays flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment with the ability to work collaboratively with other advisors and team members. To be considered as the Occupational Health Advisor you will need to be:

  • A registered nurse with additional specialist qualification in Occupational Health to degree or diploma level.
  • Experience of working within a busy Occupational Health and Wellbeing environment. Experience of working in blue light or search and rescue organisations is desirable
  • Proficient in managing your own caseload and providing strong case management, both face-to-face and remote/telephone based
  • Able to deliver a high-quality customer focussed service
