Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. 24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue. We’re looking for a Clinical Trainer to join our Clinical Training Team. The Learning and Organisational Development team supports the RNLI by ensuring our lifeboat crews and lifeguards are ready to help save lives. We train our crews and lifeguards to high levels of medical care, which relies on exceptional training being delivered.

Vehicle: A vehicle will be made available to carry out your duties

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time

Additional information: 40 hours per week

Location description: Home-based role with travel throughout the North and East region

Your role

  • Planning, organising, and delivering operational Casualty Care training courses that ensure the safe and effective use of equipment and skills by volunteers and staff
  • Developing training interventions and associated materials to ensure content is matched to best practice
  • Providing extensive travel, training at lifeboat and lifeguard stations across the North and East, as well as travelling around the UK and ROI. An RNLI vehicle will be provided

Requirements

  • Previous instructor/training responsibility
  • To be an HCPC/NMC Registered professional
  • Prehospital clinical experience
  • Understanding of the volunteer ethos
  • Willingness to work away from home, including evenings and weekends
  • Based within or close to the North and East region

Other organisations may call this role Clinical Tutor.

So, as a Clinical Trainer, you might have the ability to organise not only the training and assessment of volunteer lifeboat crew members and lifeguards, but also the logistical demands of the role. Flexibility and the ability to think on your feet are key attributes. If you want to see how casualty care supports our organisation’s aim to reduce drowning, this could be the role for you.
