Role Description
The CNC Milling & Turning Setter/Operator is a full-time, on-site position based in Pidley.
This role involves setting up and operating CNC milling and turning machines to produce components to drawing, specification, and quality standards.
Day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering drawings, selecting tooling, loading and adjusting programs, performing first-off and in-process inspections, and making offsets or adjustments as required.
The Setter/Operator will monitor machine performance, maintain a clean and safe work area, and report any issues with equipment or materials.
The role may also involve collaborating with colleagues, supporting less experienced team members, and contributing to continuous improvement of machining processes.
Qualifications
- CNC programming skills for milling and turning, including reading and modifying programs and understanding G-code or similar controls.
- Strong machining capabilities, including machine setup, tooling selection, precision measuring, and working to tight tolerances.
- Experience with reading engineering drawings, using measuring instruments (e. g., micrometers, vernier calipers), and following quality procedures.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to health and safety in a workshop environment.
- Previous experience in CNC milling and turning is Essential.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
