Role Overview
The Poultry Sales Manager / Poultry Sales Executive will play a key role in building commercial partnerships, expanding distribution, and driving profitable sales growth. This position suits someone with poultry or wider protein experience who thrives in a growing, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys having ownership and autonomy. You will work closely with the COO and wider senior team to shape strategy, build customer relationships, and deliver strong, sustainable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Commercial Growth
- Develop and implement UK sales strategy to support business expansion
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts across retail, wholesale, foodservice and processing
- Identify new business opportunities and convert leads into long‑term partnerships
- Deliver volume, revenue and margin targets
- Negotiate pricing, promotions and commercial agreements
- Build strong and collaborative customer relationships
- Manage full commercial engagement including forecasting, pricing and issue resolution
- Partner closely with internal teams: supply chain, operations, finance
- Monitor UK poultry and protein market trends, price movements and competitor activity
- Provide insight to support product development and category positioning
- Support growth of fresh, frozen or value‑added poultry ranges
- Produce accurate forecasts and customer plans
- Track performance vs targets and report directly to the COO
- Support annual budgeting and long‑term planning
Key Requirements
- Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in poultry, meat, seafood or wider protein sales
- Strong UK market understanding (retail, wholesale, foodservice or processing)
- Proven commercial achievements in volume, revenue and margin growth
- Field‑based account management experience preferred
- Strong negotiation and relationship‑building skills
- Commercially astute with a data‑driven mindset
- Confident communicator at buyer and senior stakeholder level
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑growing, entrepreneurial environment
- Degree in Business, Sales, Agriculture, Food Science or similar (preferred, not essential)
