Operations Manager – Boutique Bakery & Café

RND Recruitment is looking for an Operations Manager to join a premium boutique bakery and café business in Central London. Combining artisan baking with stylish surroundings, this business takes pride in products that look as good as they taste.
This is a hands-on opportunity to oversee operations across multiple locations, bringing together talented bakery teams and welcoming front-of-house staff. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll help create an environment where people thrive, service runs smoothly and quality shines through in every detail.
Your Role
- Lead daily bakery and café operations, ensuring production and shop teams work together to deliver fresh, beautifully presented products and excellent service.
- Support Shop Managers and Supervisors, overseeing staffing, rotas, recruitment, onboarding and team development.
- Keep a close eye on stock, ordering, waste and labour costs, balancing premium standards with efficient operations.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, allergen management, hygiene and shop presentation.
- Resolve operational challenges and coordinate equipment maintenance to keep production and service running smoothly.
- Support seasonal launches, promotions and product photography, ensuring teams and locations are ready.
About You
You know what it takes to run a busy bakery, pâtisserie, coffee shop or café, and you care equally about the products, the people and the customer experience.
You'll bring:
- Management experience in a quality-focused bakery or café environment, ideally across multiple sites.
- A good understanding of bakery production and front-of-house operations.
- A confident, supportive leadership style and a willingness to work alongside your teams.
- Commercial awareness, with experience managing staffing, stock, waste and operational costs.
- Strong organisational skills, sound food safety knowledge and an eye for detail.
