This could be your opportunity to step into a broader senior role with greater ownership, autonomy and influence across the end-to-end supply chain.
About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing UK food business with a portfolio of high-quality own-brand products, supplying the foodservice, wholesale and retail sectors across the UK.
Their expanding range spans ambient and frozen food categories, produced under the company's own brands by trusted manufacturing partners across Europe.
With an established European supply network, nationwide UK distribution and ambitious growth plans, the business is continuing to invest in strengthening its supply chain function.
The Role
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for managing the end-to-end supply chain, from supplier relationship management and international logistics through to UK imports, inventory planning and customer fulfilment.
You'll have the opportunity to influence how the business operates, improve processes and help shape the future of the supply chain as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate with internal operations and finance teams, together with external logistics partners, to ensure the smooth movement of international shipments, customs clearance and customer deliveries.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, cold storage facilities and transport partners, ensuring high service levels and cost-effective operations.
- Own demand and inventory planning, using forecasts and replenishment schedules to maintain product availability while minimising both shortages and overstocking.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolving supply chain issues and driving continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with UK import regulations, customs requirements and relevant food industry standards.
- Analyse operational KPIs and optimise sourcing, stock positioning, storage and distribution processes to reduce cost, improve availability and build a more efficient supply chain.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving operational challenges, improving efficiency and building resilient international supply chains.
You'll ideally have:
- Significant hands-on supply chain experience within Food & Beverage, food imports or FMCG, including supplier coordination and the ability to take ownership with minimal training or supervision.
- Experience managing international logistics, imports and freight forwarding.
- A good understanding of UK import procedures, customs documentation and Incoterms.
- Experience with inventory planning, demand planning or supply planning.
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers and warehouse operations (3PL).
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong commercial awareness with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience using ERP systems together with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading or coordinating operational, logistics or back-office colleagues.
- The leadership potential to build stronger processes and develop into a future Head of Supply Chain.

- Ukrainian language skills are strongly preferred because of regular communication with suppliers and partners in Eastern Europe. Russian language skills may also be useful.

Salary & Benefits
- Β£45-55k per annum (negotiable).
