National Account Manager β Fresh Produce / Food Manufacturing
Location: Greenford/Hayes, West London
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Site-Based with Travel
Our client is a well-established and fast-growing business within the UK fresh produce and food manufacturing sector, supplying high-quality prepared fruit, vegetables and ingredient solutions to leading foodservice, retail and manufacturing customers. With a strong focus on sustainability, supply chain excellence and category expertise, they are recognised for delivering consistent quality and innovation across short shelf-life products.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced National Account Manager to take ownership of a diverse customer portfolio across foodservice, processors, independent retail and selected grocery retail accounts.
This role is integral to driving commercial performance, managing complex supply chains, and delivering joint business plans that enhance customer relationships, sales growth and margin contribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow key customer accounts across foodservice, retail and manufacturing sectors
- Develop and deliver joint business plans aligned with customer requirements and company KPIs
- Build strong relationships with buyers and key stakeholders across accounts
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Technical and Supply Chain teams
- Analyse EPOS data, market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
- Ensure high levels of service delivery, product availability and forecasting accuracy
- Manage promotions, pricing, and profitability to optimise margin contribution
- Maintain customer portals, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with agreed terms
- Monitor debtor reports and support timely invoice payments with Finance
- Identify risks within the supply chain (e.g. weather, logistics, political factors) and implement mitigation strategies
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in UK food manufacturing or fresh produce (short shelf-life products)
- Strong understanding of end-to-end agri-food supply chains
- Experience managing retail and/or foodservice accounts
- Knowledge of GSCOP, contract negotiation, and commercial trading terms
- Highly analytical with strong numerical and data interpretation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Resilient, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel essential)
- Degree educated (or equivalent experience)
Additional Information
- Regular travel to UK sites and customers
- Occasional international travel may be required
- Full UK driving licence essential
