Our client is a leading provider in the structural steel sector, delivering high-quality fabrication and manufacturing solutions to a wide range of industries. We are currently seeking an experiencedTime-Served Platerto join their dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with plate thickness ranging from 5mm to 100mm
- Apply heat straightening techniques as required
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Use grinders and associated consumables correctly and safely, adhering to HAVS regulations
- Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment safely
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality) procedures
- Work to production targets and deadlines
- Demonstrate a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
- Engage in continuous improvement and training activities
- Perform any other duties as required to support team and business needs
Skills & Experience Required:
- Time-served Plater with City & Guilds/NVQ in Plating (structural steel) or equivalent qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy engineering and structural steel fabrication
- Excellent understanding of plating codes and standards
- Confident in using overhead cranes and applying correct slinging techniques
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work efficiently under own initiative as well as collaboratively within a team
- Good understanding of production processes and quality standards
- Full commitment to health & safety protocols and safe work behaviours
- Must be able to pass a practical skill test
