Location: Stoke-on-Trent (preferred)

Salary: Competitive salary of £50,000 per annum

Job type: Full Time - Permanent. Hours: Monday - Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm, Friday 8.00am to 3.00pm with 1/2 hour lunch break.

We provide innovative, cost-effective, mechanical solutions where needed and we are equipped to cover all jobs, large or small to our customers based nationwide or throughout Europe. Rotating Machinery Services hold 35 years of experience working with industrial equipment, supplying engineers on-site to carry out servicing and repairs to equipment.

The Role: A Design Engineer is required to join a progressive skilled team working on a wide variety of projects, for a wide range of industries including Aerospace, Automotive & the Food industry. You will be required to:

  • Design product components, assemblies, tooling and machinery, designing for manufacture concepts.
  • Produce 2D drawings, 3D models, concepts, assemblies and parts lists.
  • Liaise with colleagues, suppliers and customers.

About You: The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, forward thinking and up for the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at the same time, from designing small components to complete design of bespoke manufacturing equipment and automation. We are looking for someone who can develop, improve and provide cost effective solutions for our clients, having the ability to interpret their specifications and visions, which can range from a full written spec to just a verbal idea.

Candidate Experience/Requirements: We are looking for a time served engineer in Mechanical Design with knowledge of motors & drives, hydraulics & pneumatics, automation & robotics. Experience of using CAD packages with a strong understanding of Autodesk. Ability to create designs from concept through to final manufactured parts. Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines. Experience of working in the manufacturing industry including Aerospace & Automotive and knowledge of UKCA Marking, PUWER, LOLER & Machinery safety directive. Will have a full clean driving licence.
