The Offshore Paramedic delivers primary, urgent, and emergency medical care at client worksites, which may include drilling rigs, hazardous construction areas, or other remote locations. The Paramedic ensures high-quality clinical care, maintains medical readiness, and supports health, safety, and emergency response operations on site.

Responsibilities

  • Provide urgent and emergency medical care to all personnel on site.
  • Perform accurate clinical assessments, examinations, and documentation using electronic medical records.
  • Report treatments and case categories in line with client and project requirements.
  • Support medical evacuations and accompany patients to designated facilities when required.
  • Maintain clinic readiness, conduct equipment checks, and ensure availability of emergency medical supplies.
  • Participate in simulation drills, safety exercises, and health promotion initiatives.
  • Follow RHCP Guidelines, RCM Guidelines, MERP procedures, and relevant client protocols.
  • Manage disease prevention and workforce health monitoring programs.
  • Conduct site medical inductions, drug and alcohol testing, and workforce immunization programs as required.
  • Serve as the primary medical point of contact for client EHS and site management.
  • Complete reporting, timesheets, and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
  • Maintain professional standards, ethics, and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an independent HCPC Paramedic fully qualified medical professional.
  • Valid medical licenses and certifications in good standing.
  • Offshore experience required; remote medicine experience preferred.

Required Certificates

  • HSE Offshore Medic Certification required.
  • OEUK (or equivalent)
  • BLS/CPR, ACLS PHTLS preferred.
  • BOSIET with CA-EBS

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • General computer literacy
  • Ability to use the RMI Electronic Health Record system (training provided)

Working Conditions

  • Work in remote or austere environments with limited communication and transport.
  • Basic living conditions; extreme climates and indigenous disease risks may be present.
  • Must meet all physical and environmental requirements of offshore/remote deployment.
