Are you passionate about network topology, automation, and solving complex challenges at scale? We’re looking for a NetBrain Network Engineer to support a major enterprise initiative—building and maintaining live, dynamic network documentation across multiple mission-critical sites. This is your chance to step into a high-impact role where you’ll work hand-in-hand with the customer’s lead engineer, shaping the foundation for runbooks, automation workflows, and large-scale observability efforts. If you thrive in environments where precision meets innovation, this is for you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own the creation and maintenance of Layer 1–3 network documentation across data centres in Denver, Boston, and Ashburn using NetBrain.
- Design and manage dynamic topology maps—tagged by site, function, and system type (e.g., Exadata, UCS).
- Implement scheduled topology refreshes to keep documentation real-time and audit-ready.
- Track and monitor port usage, particularly in critical environments (e.g., Exadata), to support proactive alerting and capacity planning.
- Collaborate closely with systems teams to validate IPs, MACs, and hostnames for map accuracy.
- Enable the next generation of SOPs, training materials, and automation use cases through smart documentation.
- Drive early-stage automation efforts for map updates and alert workflows.
- Partner with other NetBrain-focused engineers on related initiatives across the environment.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong hands-on expertise in NetBrain Dynamic Mapping and network documentation.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise network environments and tech stacks like UCS, Exadata, Commvault, and storage arrays.
- Experience building accurate documentation in complex networks.
- Ability to manage topology refresh cycles and set up alerting for critical port usage.
- Familiarity with AWS networking for mapping external integrations.
- Clear, effective communicator with a proactive, customer-first mindset.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow for potential future integration.
- Proven success in greenfield environments—able to bring best practices where they didn’t exist before.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to share their expertise and support a client with growing and building on their NetBrain experience.
Why apply?
- Work with a passionate, experienced team.
- Flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the UK.
- A chance to genuinely shape how the future of network automation is used.
