Are you a UX Researcher who enjoys working on complex, high-impact systems where insight, evidence and usability truly matter? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a mid-to-senior level UX Researcher to join a leading consultancy, supporting a nationally significant, data-driven organisation delivering critical services used across government, industry and the public.

This role will suit someone who is comfortable navigating technical subject matter, collaborating with diverse user groups and embedding research-led thinking into decision-making. You’ll play a key role in translating research into clear, actionable insights that directly shape user-centred digital services.

Location: Kensington, London

Start date: January 2026

Duration: 3–6 months, with potential to extend

Rate: Up to £425 per day (inside IR35)

Travel: Occasional UK travel may be required

The Role

In this role, you will lead and deliver UX research across complex digital products and services within a consultancy environment. Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and conducting end-to-end UX research from discovery through to evaluation
  • Engaging with a wide range of users, including technical specialists, operational teams and policy stakeholders
  • Using a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods to uncover user needs, behaviours and usability issues
  • Synthesising findings into clear, compelling insights to inform design, product and delivery decisions
  • Collaborating closely with designers, product managers and delivery teams to embed user-centred design
  • Supporting evidence-based decision-making in a data-rich, scientific and operational context

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Strong experience delivering UX research on complex digital products or services
  • Confidence running research independently and owning research activity end to end
  • Experience working in the public sector, science, data or highly regulated environments (highly desirable)
  • Excellent stakeholder communication, facilitation and storytelling skills
  • A pragmatic, insight-led mindset with a focus on real-world impact
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC)
