Head of Quality Assurance

Salary: £90–120k & Equity Options

Location: Remote-first (with meetups in London)

A high-growth, mission-driven cybersecurity scale-up are looking for a Head of QA to elevate quality from a process to a culture — embedding automation, consistency, and collaboration across all products and teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the QA transformation strategy across web, desktop, and mobile security products
• Embed automation-first principles into the secure development lifecycle
• Build scalable frameworks and test architectures for complex, multi-platform environments
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to improve reliability, visibility, and release confidence
• Define and track key quality metrics including automation coverage, defect escape rate, and release stability
• Coach and scale a high-performing QA team while fostering a culture of shared quality ownership
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Product, and Security teams
• Champion modern tooling, continuous improvement, and data-led decision-making to reduce risk and accelerate delivery

What You Bring

• Proven leadership in QA within high-growth or cybersecurity-focused environments
• Strong hands-on expertise in automation framework design, CI/CD integration, and test reliability
• Advanced programming experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python
• Experience leading QA across multi-platform stacks (web, desktop, mobile)
• Track record of mentoring and scaling QA teams while embedding a culture of ownership and accountability
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance speed, risk, and user trust
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Familiarity with performance testing, observability, and modern QA tooling
• Passion for building secure, seamless user experiences that earn customer confidence
