London (Hybrid – 3 days per week in a Central London office) Permanent | Up to £80,000 + benefits
This role goes far beyond visual design. It’s about owning UX logic, setting global design standards, and acting as the critical bridge between Group strategy, local market teams, Product, and Engineering. Success here is defined by clarity of communication, diplomatic influence, and the ability to align diverse stakeholders around a shared product vision.
The Role
As Product Design Lead, you will be the strategic anchor for product design across the group. You’ll ensure every journey is logical, every interaction is feasible, and every execution meets a consistently high bar for quality.
A major part of the role is stakeholder leadership. You’ll work closely with multiple international market teams, each with their own priorities and perspectives, and guide them towards a unified, world-class global experience—sometimes through challenging but necessary conversations.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead strategic product design initiatives from early logic and information architecture through to polished UI, ensuring strong commercial and customer outcomes.
- Own UX logic and flow design, acting as the guardian of how the product works and ensuring edge cases are resolved before development.
- Champion data, research, and experimentation, driving A/B testing and user research to validate decisions and optimise conversion.
- Bridge Design and Technology, working closely with engineers to align on feasibility and ensure design intent is realised in build.
- Set and protect global standards, running design reviews and quality assurance to ensure consistency across all markets.
- Mentor and elevate designers, providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and fostering a culture of craft excellence.
- Influence without authority, using diplomacy, clarity, and confidence to align international stakeholders with new brand guidelines and UX principles.
Who They’re Looking For:
- A diplomatic communicator who excels in complex stakeholder environments and can deliver “polite but firm” alignment when needed.
- A strategic doer with strong hands-on experience across UX and UI, equally comfortable at vision level and in the detail.
- Logic-led by nature, with a deep appreciation for information architecture, system states, and end-to-end user flows.
- A trusted technical partner to Product and Engineering, with a solid understanding of development constraints.
- A natural mentor and leader who enjoys helping other designers grow and succeed.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- True reminder: Designs used by millions of customers across Europe.
- Challenger mindset: A mature organisation that still moves fast, tests, and iterates.
- International exposure: Work with talented, distributed teams where influence really matters.
