Role: Nursery Manager
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum
Location: Shipston-On-Stour
Duties of a Nursery Manager:
- Staff Management: Overseeing all staff members including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Curriculum Development: Developing age-appropriate curriculum and educational programs for children in the nursery.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that the nursery complies with all relevant health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe environment for children.
- Parent Communication: Communicating effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, concerns, and any relevant updates.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Managing the nursery's budget, including expenses for supplies, staff salaries, and facility maintenance.
- Resource Management: Ordering and maintaining supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for the nursery's operation.
- Childcare Administration: Handling administrative tasks such as enrolment, billing, record-keeping, and maintaining accurate attendance records.
- Staff Development: Providing ongoing training and professional development opportunities for nursery staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Conflict Resolution: Resolving conflicts or issues that arise among staff members, parents, or children in a fair and constructive manner.
- Marketing and Outreach: Promoting the nursery through marketing efforts and participating in outreach activities to attract new families and maintain enrolment levels.
- Quality Assurance: Monitoring the quality of care provided to children and implementing improvements as needed to meet or exceed standards of excellence.
- Emergency Preparedness: Developing and implementing emergency procedures and protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of children and staff in the event of an emergency or crisis.
Requirements of a Nursery Manager:
- Qualification: A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Level 3 Early Years Qualification.
- Experience: A minimum of two years experience of working as a Nursery Manager.
- Leadership Skills: Effective leadership skills are essential for managing and motivating a team of childcare professionals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are necessary for interacting with staff, parents, children, and external stakeholders.
- Organisational Skills: Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
