The Role:
As an HGV Class 2 Tramper Driver, you will be based in Kettering and undertake long-distance distribution and multi-drop delivery routes to customer premises across Scotland. You will be responsible for safely operating an HGV Class 2 / Category C vehicle, completing multiple deliveries and ensuring goods are delivered safely and on time. The role involves working away from base as part of the tramping operation, with £35 nightly allowance provided for truck stop stays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate an HGV Class 2 / Category C vehicle
- Complete long-distance deliveries from Kettering to Scotland
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries to restaurant and customer premises
- Load and unload goods safely
- Carry out manual handling and heavy lifting when required
- Complete daily vehicle walk-around and safety checks
- Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and tachograph records
- Comply fully with drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
- Plan and manage driving time and delivery schedules effectively
- Work independently while away from base
- Provide professional customer service at every delivery
- Report vehicle defects and other issues promptly
- Maintain the vehicle to a high standard
HGV Class 2 Driver Requirements:
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 / Category C driving licence
- Maximum 3 penalty points
- No active DR or DD endorsements

- Previous commercial HGV Class 2 driving experience
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience is desirable
