RM Recruit are working with a Christian charity who are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role is based in their Solihull office Monday-Friday and is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative finance function. The client is open to candidates with no finance experience who are seeking to build and develop their accounting career.
The Finance Officer will support a broad range of core accounting activities, contribute to process improvements, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Support core accounting tasks, including daily bank reconciliations, monthly credit card reconciliations, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Contribute to the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring timely sign-off by the Financial Controller.
- Prepare and process payment schedules and invoices, ensuring VAT reports and payments are accurate and compliant with organisational controls.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of statutory annual accounts for audits and Charity Commission filings.
- Manage external vendor records, ensuring correct onboarding procedures are followed and supplier transaction controls are adhered to.
- Produce supplier statements and aged creditor reports for the regional hub.
- Support Budget Holders with budget preparation and reporting, assisting regional operations teams with finance-related queries and promoting best financial practice across the organisation.

Please note, the organisation has a requirement for all team members to be a practising Christian. There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) for this role to be filled by a practising Christian as per the organisations Statement of Faith and day to day prayer-based activity involved.
