RM Recruit are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded organisation based in Coventry, who are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This role will be based onsite, Monday to Friday, during the initial six-month probationary period. Following successful completion, the position will transition to a hybrid working arrangement, with an expected office presence of three days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Finance Manager in developing and managing the annual budget in collaboration with senior management and department heads.
- Prepare and present budget variance reports, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
- Monitor income and expenditure to ensure alignment with budget targets.
- Assist the Finance Manager in producing accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly management accounts, annual statements, and trustee reports.
- Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Prepare and submit statutory and VAT returns, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Support the Finance Manager in monitoring and managing cash flow to meet operational requirements.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and reports, maintain banking relationships, and optimise cash management processes.
- Oversee client accounts and complete monthly bank reconciliations.
Person Specification:
- Part-qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Full understanding of double entry bookkeeping
- Proficient in the use of modern computerised accounting systems, (QuickBooks)
- Experienced in the use of spreadsheets, preferably Microsoft Excel
