RM Recruit are excited to be working with a Birmingham based organisation who are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Officer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Our client can offer, flexible hybrid working with the provision of one day working from home and four days working onsite.
The working hours consist of 8am – 4pm Monday – Thursday and 8am – 3.30pm on a Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the purchase ledger, including processing invoices, payments and supplier queries.
- Overseeing the sales ledger, including raising invoices, allocating payments and following up outstanding balances.
- Completing regular bank reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies.
- Supporting the month-end close process, ensuring financial information is accurate and up to date.
- Processing financial transactions accurately and maintaining appropriate records.
- Assisting with general finance administration and providing support to the wider finance team.
- Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers and customers as required.
Person Specification
- Previous experience in a similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of purchase ledger and sales ledger processes.
- Experience completing bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
- Good knowledge of month-end processes and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Well-organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A proactive and positive approach, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider finance team.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting software would be advantageous.
