RM Recruit are working with a Midlands based provider of Social Housing to recruit an Interim Service Charge Accountant for their team. In this role, you will take the lead in ensuring that all rents and service charges are calculated, managed, and communicated accurately, while remaining fully compliant with legislation, regulatory requirements, and lease agreements. You will also ensure that service charge costs are appropriately allocated, thoroughly validated, and clearly communicated to residents.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Oversee the management of rents and/or service charges, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clear communication with residents.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of leasehold legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.
  • Lead the preparation of service charge budgets and coordinate the year-end reconciliation process.
  • Analyse, validate, and allocate expenditure, ensuring all costs are appropriate, substantiated, and recoverable.
  • Liaise with auditors by providing required documentation and resolving queries in a timely manner.

This role will have a duration of 3 to 6 months and will have hybrid working in place (2/3 days per week required in the Birmingham office).
