Job Description
RM Recruit are supporting a Birmingham based Not for Profit organisation in the recruitment of an Interim Finance Director for their team. This role will provide stability for the organisation during a period of positive change and potentially assist with the restructuring of the finance function.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensure continuous compliance with all applicable legislation, statutory regulations, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the stewardship and management of all financial assets.
- Contribute to income growth, operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and long-term sustainability, while exemplifying best practices.
- Research, advocate for, and support the development of robust financial delivery models across the organisation and its subsidiaries.
- Lead both strategic and operational planning, implementation, reporting, and control of financial and budgetary activities.
- Manage all external financial audits, inspections, and compliance processes, including negotiating audit findings and recommended actions with external auditors, HMRC, and other relevant bodies.
- Lead and develop the finance team, including oversight of departmental budgets and staff development.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of all statutory and organisational financial returns, including sector-specific requirements.
- Provide expert financial advice and reporting to the CEO, enabling informed decision-making through timely data such as budgets, scenario planning, performance analysis, and active participation in senior management meetings.
- Manage cash flow by balancing working capital, reserves, and investments against projected expenditures, and model future financial performance across various scenarios.
- Develop the medium-term financial plan aligned with income trends and growth objectives.
- Deliver regular analysis of financial risks, investment strategies, and planning, aligned with organisational values and risk appetite.
- Advise and report to the board on financial matters, offering guidance on best practices, regulatory compliance, scenario planning, and the implications of strategic decisions.
- Maintain and manage relationships with key external stakeholders including auditors, banks, actuaries, investment brokers, and legal advisers.
- Support the development and oversight of the organisation’s commercial partnerships and activities.
Our client requires a confident and established Head of Finance/Finance Director who has worked in organisations of c£15m t/o or above and is experienced in both strategic and hands on statutory duties.
The contract will have a duration of 6 months with hybrid working (c50/50 split). Day rates can be considered for the right experience.
