RM Recruit are working with an excellent organisation based in Newcastle-Under-Lyme who are actively seeking a detail-oriented Executive Assistant/Governance Partner to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. This role is home based with the office presence set at once/twice per week.
As the ideal candidate, you will provide high-quality administrative and governance support to senior leaders and committees. Your responsibilities will include preparing agendas, attending and accurately minuting meetings, coordinating governance processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal frameworks. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys working collaboratively, and brings a solid understanding of governance best practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive administrative support to governance functions, including scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, and maintaining accurate records.
- Attend governance meetings, ensuring high-quality and timely minute-taking.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of agendas, reports, and papers in line with agreed timelines.
- Maintain governance records and registers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.
- Support the organisation’s governance framework, ensuring policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Liaise with senior leaders and board members professionally and confidentially.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance processes and systems.
- Proven administrative experience, ideally within a governance, compliance, or board support setting.
- Strong minute-taking skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of governance principles and processes (experience in the public or third sector is an advantage).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using digital systems for records and communications.
