R&M Southampton Branch, one of the largest R&M's electrical distribution facilities, is looking to employ a Warehouse Operative to join their busy team. R&M's Southampton Branch prides itself on exceptional customer service with an offer of next day deliveries to local customers thanks to R&M's fleet of distribution vehicles.

Branch/Division: R&M Southampton (Central) Branch, Unit 1, Central Trading Estate, Marine Parade, Southampton, SO14 5JP.

Salary: Negotiable/Depending on experience.

Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday and 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Fridays, with a one-hour lunch break.

Main Duties:

  • Safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods and products to feed business operations and customer demand.
  • Receiving, handling and dispatch of goods coming into, or going out of the stores or warehouse.
  • Unloading, checking goods, entering details of received goods onto a computer system and correctly storing them.
  • Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders.
  • Keeping the warehouse area in an acceptable condition.
  • Keeping the stores area in an acceptable condition and always acting in compliance with the Groups Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems.

Other Duties:

  • Undertaking any other duties that are within the skill and capability of the individual as directed by the manager or other designated supervisors.
  • All tasks to be performed in compliance with the Groups Health & Safety and Quality Control systems, as well as any other applicable management systems and best practices implemented by R&M Electrical Group.

  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good numeracy and IT skills for data entry.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, but also with own initiative.
  • Ability to function under pressure and with an understanding of priorities relating to customer service.

Training: Training will be given on all aspects of the liaison with customers & suppliers and any additional IT required.
