The Group Finance team are responsible for reporting the results and financial position of the RM plc Group to the Executive Directors, the RM plc Board, Shareholders and other external bodies. In addition, the team is responsible for the Group’s tax position; providing financial control over the reporting of RM Education Ltd and RM plc companies; providing Group’s management accounts, including the preparation and oversight of Group budgets and forecasts; and managing the relationships with the Group’s auditors.
Role purpose
- Deliver accurate financial reporting of Group consolidated results, including provision of monthly management accounts to the Holding Board and Executive Committee, and monthly Divisional management accounts to Divisional management.
- Oversee the monthly consolidation process including troubleshooting reporting outputs of the wider team, including indirect management and support of the offshore finance shared service team.
- Assist with production of year-end and interim statutory reporting to shareholders with notes preparation, additional disclosures and proofreading, and dealing with auditor queries.
What the role will be doing
- Oversee the group consolidation process, identifying opportunities for automation and process optimisation to reduce the close time.
- Liaise with the Commercial teams and transactional reporting team in India to ensure accurate and timely flow of information for month-end close and group reporting processes.
- Preparation of monthly Group management accounts and board papers, playing a pivotal role in the short-term migration to Power BI to automate the reporting process.
- Maintenance of lease asset and liability calculations for each of the IFRS16 leases in the Group.
- Review of Group tangible and intangible assets ledgers.
- Carrying out divisionalisation activities including the review and posting of divisionalisation journals and preparation of divisional balance sheets.
- Production of divisional packs to support interim and year-end Group statutory accounts.
- Management of ONS surveys for UK entities.
- Support ad hoc Finance project activity as and when required.
Experience
- CA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
- Growth mindset with a willingness to improve and streamline financial reporting and accounting processes.
