Finance Business Partner - Corporate Services in Abingdon

The purpose of this role is to act as the bridge between finance and IT, reporting to our Operations Finance Director and working with the Head of IT. You will help the IT department to deliver its financial goals including setting budgets, forecasting and project reporting. The role requires collaboration with multiple departments (e.g. Finance, IT, HR, Procurement) so that you can deliver world-class financial insight while meeting tight deadlines. This role would be ideal for a newly or recently qualified accountant looking to take the next step on their Finance Business Partner career.

Responsibilities

• Business Partner for central functions within our Corporate Division
• Simplify finance processes and build new reports to ensure that the heads of the central functions and the Operations Finance Director have quality insightful data and analysis in a timely manner.
• Work with the heads of the central functions and colleagues in Procurement and the HR Business Partners to drive business performance.
• Produce and review monthly reporting including monthly forecasts
• P&L reviews with FD
• Balanced Scorecard
• Monthly Budget Holder performance reviews, i.e. cost centre reviews.
• Further improve, automate and simplify production of MI
• Lead & carry out monthly Forecasting and annual budgeting
• Liaise with India and IT to enhance models to the specifications of the Operations Finance Director and heads of the central functions
• Enable monthly reviews with cost centre/functional cost owners to review actuals and to forecast cost requirements
• Support with IT business case preparation and capitalisation decisions
• Produce IT project reporting to review project performance

Experience

• Qualified accountant
• Competent/ strong in Excel
• Good organisational skills and a focus on timely deliverables
• Highly numerate with an attention to detail and able to convey complex problems in a way that people can understand and act upon
• Be a positive and enthusiastic influence playing a big role in driving the business on to achieve its goals
• An understanding of IAS 38
• Experience of working in costs management preferably with IT or related experience from practice
• Power BI experience desirable
• Understanding a variety of ERPs is desirable
• Above all someone who is willing to grow and advance into the above, we do not necessarily expect any candidate to meet 100% of the requirements when they first start
