The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
We are currently seeking a Head Fitter. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient running of the workshop and yard and maximising availability of plant machinery across sites. The successful candidate will also allocate and monitor the workload of workshop and yard personnel ensuring health and safety of all within the workshop and yard.
The successful applicant will have:
- Testing and Inspection Certification
- Level 3 Plant Mechanic Qualification
- HGV Certification
- Counterbalance Forklift
- English GCSE Grade 4/C, Level 2 Functional Skills, or equivalent
- Mathematics GCSE Grade 4/C, Level 2 Functional Skills, or equivalent
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work alongside the Plant Manager to schedule, coordinate and supervise the day-to-day workload of fitters and yard personnel.
- Offer day to day support and guidance to fitters.
- Maintain stock levels for parts.
- Manage existing and new suppliers where required.
- Coordinate workshop repairs on all plant including road going vehicles (trucks and vans), dumpers, excavators etc. to ensure timely and safe delivery.
- Coordinate the delivery/collection of machinery and plant.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of all servicing and repairs.
- Maintain a system of inspection of all off hired machinery to identify damages that should be chargeable to customers/users.
- Maintain a high level of safe working practices and adhere to health and safety risk assessments and regulations.
- Completing lifting inspections and sign off.
- Mentoring of trainees and/or apprentices.
Package Contract Type: Self-employed
Weekly Hours: 07:30am to 16:30pm (we are open to discussing reasonable adjustments)
