We are seeking a professional HGV Refuse Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy goods vehicles, specifically refuse collection lorries, to ensure efficient waste collection services. This role requires a dedicated individual with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV refuse collection vehicles in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
- Collect waste from designated residential, commercial, or industrial locations efficiently and professionally
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of refuse containers, adhering to health and safety standards
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accurate records of collections and route completion times
- Follow designated routes and schedules to meet operational deadlines
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding route updates or issues encountered during shifts
Requirements
- Valid HGV licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, particularly with delivery or refuse collection vehicles
- Proven ability to operate large vehicles safely and efficiently
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role, including lifting waste containers when required
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 4am - 1pm. This is a temp to perm opportunity which offers bonuses when full time.
