Department:Engineering Location:Global Point Main purpose of role The core purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer will be to ensure efficient, high-quality production processes for critical aerospace components. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing, optimising, and supporting manufacturing processes, including automation, chemical treatments, robotic spray painting, metal bonding, and assembly operations. Use engineering experience to develop methods of manufacture and provide high quality manufacturing cell support Design and specify new or modified tooling, fixtures, and methods Engineering process improvement; identify, implement, and support continuous improvement activities Scope and assess new work for all aspects of post machining processes, Specify equipment and facilities needed to meet the company manufacturing requirements Define and maintain the process flow for new and existing products and assist in definition of cell layout Use New Production Introduction methodology to ensure smooth process and product change activity Manage the change control process and create/maintain BOMs, technical instructions and procedures Identify, promote, and introduce technical innovation and improvements Provide technical support to other departments and functions, e.g. Production, Supply Chain, CI, and Quality Provide input to customer component designs Assist with operator training in new processes or changes in process Respond to customer concerns in a professional and timely manner Develop suitable measures for projects and cross fertilise successes within Engineering Department Participate in cross functional activity and assist in the smooth running of the Engineering department Support Company and Department objectives Any additional tasks or duties deemed necessary to meet the responsibilities of the role. Qualifications Essential Hold an HNC/D Level 3 or above in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering related qualification Desirable Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience Essential At least 3 years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in an Engineering / Manufacturing environment with a minimum of 2 years experience in one of the following processes: anodising, bonding, general wet treatments, painting, assembly, or automated spray painting Experience within the Aerospace industry or similarly regulated industry Desirable Experience of liaising closely with customers and suppliers Experience of all the following processes: anodising, bonding, automated spray painting and manual assembly. Automation experience Robot programming and operation. Knowledge & Skills Essential Competent using Microsoft Office software Strong teamwork skills Proficient in the use of problem-solving tools (e.g. 3Cs & 8Ds) Desirable Working knowledge of current continuous improvement practices (e.g. TPM, FMEA, VSM, SPC and other analytical methods). Proficient in CAD software and ERP systems Data analysis and capability training (e.g. achieved or working towards Green Belt) Competencies Understands complex issues with balanced sound analysis & judgement. Pay & Benefits Pay 38k-42k circa (depending on experience) 25 days holidays and 8 statutory holidays accrued during first years service which can be taken in hours.
