Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Value Stream Manager will be accountable for supporting the delivery of a busy operational department through effective management of operations providing high quality manufacturing capability to our customers. This is a key role within RLC UK Ltd effectively managing and monitoring performance of the department to meet set objectives.
The VSM is accountable for achieving operational targets relating to:
- Health and safety performance
- Product quality and compliance
- On-time delivery to customers
- Productivity and cost reduction
- Inventory and working capital management
They monitor KPIs daily and take corrective action when targets are not met.
Other Duties include:
- Day to day management of the Working Team Leaders and Operators which includes: Managing Performance, Coaching, Conducting Regular 1-2-1's, ensuring our People are supported and engaged.
- Work with the Planning team to understand and implement planning changes, constantly reviewing to optimise productivity and communicating to operations leadership of any impact that may affect capital spend or changes to resource requirements.
- Drive process improvements to increase performance, drive efficiency and reduce waste through the implementation of continuous improvement methodology such as 5S, kaizens.
Skills And Experience
- A capable people leader
- Operations experience in a similar aerospace or related industry.
- High level of attention to detail and resilience to ensure quality targets are met and ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to analyse problems and apply logical problem-solving approach.
- Good PC literacy, experience of using MRP or ERP systems.
- Good understanding of continuous improvement processes.
