Main Purpose of the Role
We are looking for an experienced Finance Executive who is looking to progress their career within an exciting, fast‑growing e‑commerce company. You will join a young, dynamic team helping to improve processes and controls, whilst supporting the rest of the business as it moves into the next chapter of growth. The Group consists of our two brands, AYBL and Because of Alice, of which you will be working for both. As the business continues to grow, we have expanded operations into the Netherlands and the US via our 3PL partner.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assisting with the maintenance of the purchase ledger and the processing of purchase invoices.
- Preparing weekly payment runs for approval.
- Obtaining data and assisting with the preparation of VAT returns.
- Assisting with month‑end procedures and reconciliations and providing support to the team throughout the year‑end audit process.
- Taking ownership of the goods in transit accounting process.
- Ensuring that all carriage and duty costs relating to stock received in the month are complete and accurate.
- Overseeing accuracy checks of supplier invoicing.
- Working with the Data team on ad‑hoc projects to help develop the overall control environment.
- Payroll administration – summarising all changes to be made and preparing for approval.
- General admin duties as required.
Key Skills
- Experience using accounting software (Xero preferred).
- Knowledge of payroll processes or experience running payroll (preferred but not essential).
- A strong work ethic; proactive and eager to improve both self and business.
- Ideally at least 2 years' industry experience and AAT Level 4 qualified.
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Listening carefully to instructions and comfortable asking questions when unsure.
- Strong mathematical skills and comfortable working with large amounts of data.
- Competent with Excel (essential).
- Maintaining confidentiality and conducting oneself in a professional manner at all times.
- Excellent written English and verbal communication skills.

Our home is located in Redditch, South Birmingham, with easy access routes to the M5/M42, a 20‑minute walk to the train station, as well as many bus routes. Not forgetting Arrow Valley Lake which is a stone’s throw away and a beautiful spot to get those steps in or enjoy your lunch with a view.
