About the Role
An established and growing professional services firm is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its team initially 2 days a week with the potential to become 3. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing high-quality accounting support to businesses and individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Complete corporation tax, self-assessment, and other tax compliance work.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Manage bookkeeping and financial record maintenance for clients.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare management accounts and financial reports.
- Support clients with accounting queries and provide practical financial guidance.
- Assist with year-end and month-end processes.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and professional advisers.
- Maintain compliance with current accounting standards and tax legislation.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and client service delivery.
- Digitalising the business.
