We’re working with a well-established, employee-owned, multi-disciplinary built environment consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist to join their Commercial Architecture team in Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected practice with nearly 60 years’ experience, known for delivering high-quality commercial, retail, logistics, industrial, office, and education projects nationwide. The Role
This position sits within the Commercial Architecture team and will suit a technically strong professional with proven experience delivering complex commercial schemes across multiple RIBA stages. You’ll take a lead role in the technical development and coordination of projects, producing detailed construction information and supporting delivery through to site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating technical design from RIBA Stages 1–6
- Producing planning, tender and construction packages
- Acting as project lead where required, managing deadlines and information flow
- Coordinating consultant information and integrating it into design outputs
- Attending client meetings, design team meetings and site visits
- Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and statutory requirements
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
About You
We’re keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate both design strength and technical expertise, alongside confidence running projects independently.
Essential experience and qualifications:
- Part 3 ARB / RIBA qualified Architect or MCIAT Senior Technologist
- Minimum 8 years’ post-qualification experience
- Strong background in commercial architecture
- Excellent working knowledge of Building Regulations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modelling software
- Experience delivering projects through to construction and site
Desirable:
- Experience with NBS specifications
- Working knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop and presentation software
- Full UK driving licence
